DirectSinks Here’s the dimensions for the sink on the left: SRU201609. The one on the right is a sink most people can get to float over their diswasher. It acts as a drain board. You could also do a “D” shaped sink in your cabinet. But if your sink base cabinet is flush with the cabinets to the left and right of it, you’ll have to put your faucet, soap dispenser, hot water dispenser etc to the left or right. . Some people like this, some do not. It’s all based on taste. Also something else to keep in mine. These sinks are mounted to the bottom of the stone. So if a sink is 9″ deep (standard), once installed it will be 10 1/4″- 10 1/2″ deep, taking into account the thickness of the stone.

(To get the sink to fit, you’d have to place the sink far away from where you’d stand. Causing you to lean over a thick part of granite to wash a dish). Like Bookmark November 17, 2014 at 5:34AM

Thank you for reporting this comment. Undo PRO DirectSinks These corner supports have nothing to do with “holding up your granite.” The granite lays across each frame of the cabinet. That is what supports it. The corner supports are just there to help keep the cabinet square. They tend to get used in formica tops when installing those, but have nothing to do with granite. Also, I don’t know what they are talking about when they say get your sink out. If the sink is properly installed to the countertop- glued and clipped to the stone- you’re not going to have a problem. I don’t know how comfortable you are with this fabricator, but we install kitchens, stone tops and sinks in them every day. And you don’t have any different situation than other people. You may want to get a second opinion from a different fabriactor. And don’t miss understand. I’m not saying you can get a 30″ sink. If this was something important to you, your kitchen designer should have designed in a bigger sink base. But you can do a Standard 20-21″ rectangle. Bigger than that, you’ll have to do some searching, sine those are not as common. 1 Like Bookmark March 19, 2014 at 5:43AM Thanked by valerierobinsonagain

mefor If you can have the sink base cabinet pulled forward, you can put the faucet at the back in the granite, your counter will then have a bump out at the sink area, which can be a great feature. I’ve done that in my kitchen, just because I wanted that bump out feature. Also used an apron front farm sink. In your case, if you can use one, it would be great, the sink would be more of a square, but it would at least be bigger 🙂

We are templating for new counters this week and would like to replace our current D shape sink with a rectangular. Our cabinet measures 24″ outside (left to right), 22.5″ inside (left to right). What is the max left to right length sink we can fit in this space? I think our dilemma is the same as previous customers, we are trying to fit the biggest sink possible in the space.

You’d have to measure the inside of your 24″ cabinet, and see if it is larger than the bowl size of the sink. From the information given, I’d say that sink is too big for your sink base cabinet.

Thank you for reporting this comment. Undo PRO Crown Construction Contracting I’m not sure what your style is or the layout, but have you considered a farmhouse sink/apron front sink. You might not get the 19″ depth, but you can achieve a much wider sink. You will have to work with your installer/carpenter/plumber to deal with the installation below (cutting / securing underneath cabinetry and whether it is feasible).
